· We have 6 new members from Katie’s classes. She’s compiling a few more before sending them in.
· Kelly Wise represented us and received our awards and our check for $200.00
President-Elect’s Report – Stacy McBride
· There was request for more communication from our council.
· They we impressed by us trying out some other methods of getting people involved. They are looking at a possibility of getting the Presidents together.
· There was discussion about moving the conference to the summer since many teachers could not be excused from school

· Jill has been sending updates to expiring members
Literacy Advocacy – Megan Miller
· Megan signed up to be part of the team to meet with legislators.
· Megan was in a brainstorming session for questions regarding early education. They discussed the rationale behind not mandating pre-k, since kindergarten is more like the new grade 1, where will our children get those needed skills? There was also discussion about parent education.
